Zeel is a NYC-based startup providing in-home massage appointments on-demand through an iOS (soon Android) app and responsive website. Rebellion has been working closely with Zeel since 2011 designing the entire user experience for their products across all platforms.
We worked very closely with their managing partners and technology team to design their entire customer and provider experiences including their consumer iPhone app, web app, massage therapist Android app, and the product website. Functionally these include member signup, therapist application, booking engine, therapist review and appointment confirmations, account management, and supporting content. We tried to create easy to use and consistent experience across all platforms and devices.

The center of the customer experience is a simple iPhone app which allows for the very fast booking of an on-demand massage. On the surface, a few main functional screens allow the user to select from a few options like massage type and therapist gender preference, and make the booking. They are then notified via text message, usually within a few minutes, when a massage therapist has accepted their request. Simple.
In reality, there are dozens of use cases and hundreds of business rules around availability and customers-to-provider matching. There is a corresponding but completely different app for massage therapists to see and respond to requests. There are cancelations and connectivity concerns. There are identity verification and security failsafes. In other words, this project was fun, and not simple at all.
The initial plan for the website was to switch it from its previous incarnation (booking a range of health and wellness professional services) to a super simple marketing website for the mobile app. Over the course of development of the product, that plan evolved and the site became a much more important hub for the service, enabling account management and massage booking across all devices.
We designed a fully functional responsive site which will serve as an important service area, especially for those mobile customers on non-iOS platforms before the other platform apps are launched.
